Catherine Rogers

Color Guard Technician - Rifle

From 2008, Catherine has officially found her passion and love for color guard. Starting in high school with the Cumberland Valley Marching Band and continuing to march through college with the Shippensburg University Marching Band, her love for the sport only grew deeper. Throughout her time within the programs, she has held multiple leadership roles including Captain, Vice President and President.

After graduating high school in 2010, she was approached by the Cumberland Valley staff to come back as a color guard visual tech, where she eventually was the Co-Caption Head of the Junior Guard Program in 2011. After leaving the Cumberland Valley Program, she took over the position of the Co-Caption Head for the Shippensburg Area High School Color Guard. In 2014, she was excited for a new journey being asked to be a tech for the Big Spring High School indoor and outdoor programs.

In 2017, Catherine became the Co-Director of the Big Spring Color Guard Program. Working alongside her Co-Director, Haley Kruger, the two have taken the program to new levels and accomplishments. The program continues to march in the Cavalcade of Bands, Keystone Indoor Association (KIDA), and Winter Guard International (WGI). The program has grown immensely and has received multiple awards for their hard work and dedication to the program including High Auxiliary, KIDA Bronze Medalist, WGI Regional Finalist, and KIDA Silver Medalist. Catherine has also been in the position of the Big Spring Co-Assistant Marching Band Director since 2018.

In 2020, Catherine was asked to go back to her Alma Mater, Shippensburg University where she is the Caption Head for the guard program. Spreading her love for the activity in all ways possible, she has been a guest instructor at multiple schools and has served as a Board at Large Member for KIDA for the 2020 and going into the 2021 seasons.

In the little free time that she has, Catherine enjoys spending time with her friends and husband, as well as her “mini zoo”, which includes two cats, two dogs, and two chinchillas.
