Marcos Vargas
Percussion Technician - Snare
Marcos is a Maryland native, currently residing in Frederick. Originally picking up the guitar, he began his drumming endeavors, starting in the elementary school band. Eventually, he joined the marching band and indoor drumline at Governor Thomas Johnson High School, playing snare and serving as section leader for his last two years.
After high school, Marcos earned a contract to March Snare for the Bushwackers in 2018. After a 4-year hiatus from marching, he returned for his age-out season with Old Line in 2022, where he served as section leader and was awarded the Member of the Year award.
Currently, Marcos serves as the Battery Caption Head in his second season with the Governor Thomas Johnson High School Marching Band as well as the Head Coach for the school swim team. Full-time, he manages a new gym in Germantown, where he also serves as a strength and conditioning coach for the general public and athletes.
Marcos is very eager to continue with Old Line in his second season on staff, being able to bring his knowledge and experience from the fitness world and combine it with the marching arts to help educate the members and grow the marching arts in the local area.
